About REAP

Fifteen years ago, REAP began with a simple but urgent mission: to ensure that girls in Ghana could attend school. Too often, when resources were scarce, families were forced to choose a son’s education over a daughter’s. By covering the cost of uniforms, books, and school fees, REAP opened the classroom doors to girls who otherwise would have been left behind.

Over time, our work grew. While we remain deeply committed to supporting girls, we now extend opportunities to boys as well — because every child deserves the chance to learn. Today, REAP expands access to education from primary school through college and facilitates participation in hands-on STEM programs that empower students to tackle community challenges with sustainable, locally-driven solutions.

Education is more than learning; it is the pathway to opportunity, innovation, and breaking the cycle of poverty for generations to come.

Founded as CPAS

CPAS was originally launched in Ghana to support local economic development. Early beneficiaries went on to play key roles in REAP’s future educational programs.

Rebranded as REAP

REAP transitioned from microfinance to education. By 2019, the organization starting bringing sponsorships, STEM programs, and community-driven support together under one mission.

STEM Program Growth

Expanded STEM clubs to seven schools, introduced teacher stipends, and began home visits to strengthen family engagement and outreach to elementary and junior high students.

National Recognition

Opened a dedicated STEM Center with hands-on experiments, weekend learning, and teacher training, gaining national recognition from the Minister of Education through a student STEM competition.
